Israel’s false messiah

Drew Berding

Israel accepts the antichrist.

Although Israel had thoroughly studied the Old Testament, Satan confused them1 by getting them to concentrate on the prophesies of the conquering king2, “For You shall break the yoke of their burden and the staff on their shoulders, the rod of their oppressor, as at the battle of Midian. For every boot of the booted warrior in the battle tumult, and cloak rolled in blood, will be for burning, fuel for the fire. For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; and the government will rest on His shoulders; and His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, eternal Father, Prince of Peace.”3 4 rather than the prophesies of the suffering servant5 6. Therefore, when Jesus came, they rejected Him because He did not fit their image of the messiah7 they wanted. As a result, they are still waiting for their conquering king.8

However, when the antichrist comes just before the Tribulation, he will totally fulfill their expectations of a conquering king (“conquering and to conquer”9) and they will fully accept him as their “messiah-ben-David.” As usual, the antichrist plays the role of the counterfeit messiah10, even arriving on a white horse.11 12

Israel will be deceived13 into believing that their messiah has come to free them from foreign domination and to give them back their land. They will willingly and eagerly enter into the seven year covenant14 with the antichrist. He will then help them rebuild Jerusalem and the Temple.15

Then at the mid-point of the seven year Tribulation,16 17 he will betray them and set himself up in the Temple as “God.”18 19

When they realize their error and rebel against the antichrist, he will execute the most vicious anti-Semitic genocide in the history of the world. Unless the 144,000 Jews were sealed20 21 with God’s seal, and God had shortened the days,22 the antichrist would have totally wiped out all the remnant23 of Israel, just like Satan had tried so many times in the past.

Israel will then mourn24 25 because of missing Jesus Christ the true Messiah not once but twice and will turn to Him in mass. As a result, all Israel will be saved.26 God’s plan is marvelous and absolutely certain.

  1. 2 Cor 4:3-4, “And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”

  5. Isaiah 53
  6. Zech 9:10, “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout in triumph, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; He is just and endowed with salvation, humble, and mounted on a donkey, even on a colt, the foal of a donkey.”
  7. The word “messiah” deliberately has a lower-case “m” on purpose since it isn’t Jesus.
  8. 2 Cor 3:14, “But their minds were hardened; for until this very day at the reading of the old covenant the same veil remains unlifted, because it is removed in Christ.”
  9. Rev 6:1-2, “Then I saw when the Lamb broke one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures saying as with a voice of thunder, ‘Come.’ 2 I looked, and behold, a white horse, and he [the antichrist] who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.”
  10. Rev 13:12, He [the counterfeit Holy Spirit] exercises all the authority of the first beast [the counterfeit Christ] in his presence. And he [the counterfeit Holy Spirit] makes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast [the counterfeit Christ] whose fatal wound was healed [mimicking the resurrection].
  11. Rev 6:2, “I looked, and behold, a white horse, and he [the antichrist] who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.”
  12. 2 Cor 11:14, “…even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.”
  13. 2 Thess 2:11-12, “For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false, 12 in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness.”
  14. Dan 9:27, “And he will make a firm covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes desolate.”
  15. Dan 9:25, “So you are to know and discern that from the issuing of a decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince there will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; it will be built again, with plaza and moat, even in times of distress.
  16. Dan 12:11, “From the time that the regular sacrifice is abolished and the abomination of desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days [3-1/2 years].
  18. Dan 11:31, “Forces from him will arise, desecrate the sanctuary fortress [the Temple], and do away with the regular sacrifice. And they will set up the abomination of desolation.”
  19. Matt 24:15-16. “Therefore when you see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), 16 then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains.”
  20. Rev 7:2-4, “And I saw another angel ascending from the rising of the sun, having the seal of the living God; and he cried out with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was granted to harm the earth and the sea, 3 saying, ‘Do not harm the earth or the sea or the trees until we have sealed the bond-servants of our God on their foreheads.’ 4 And I heard the number of those who were sealed, one hundred and forty-four thousand sealed from every tribe of the sons of Israel.”
  21. Rev 9:4, “They were told not to hurt the grass of the earth, nor any green thing, nor any tree, but only the men who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads.”
  22. Mark 13:20, “Unless the Lord had shortened those days, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect, whom He chose, He shortened the days.”
  23. Rom 9:27-29, Isaiah cries out concerning Israel, “THOUGH THE NUMBER OF THE SONS OF ISRAEL BE LIKE THE SAND OF THE SEA, IT IS THE REMNANT THAT WILL BE SAVED; 28 FOR THE LORD WILL EXECUTE HIS WORD ON THE EARTH, THOROUGHLY AND QUICKLY.” 29 And just as Isaiah foretold, “UNLESS THE LORD OF SABAOTH HAD LEFT TO US A POSTERITY, WE WOULD HAVE BECOME LIKE SODOM, AND WOULD HAVE RESEMBLED GOMORRAH.”
  24. Rev 1:4, “BEHOLD, HE IS COMING WITH THE CLOUDS, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him.”
  25. Zech 12:10-14, “I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and of supplication, so that they will look on Me whom they have pierced; and they will mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him like the bitter weeping over a firstborn. 11 “In that day there will be great mourning in Jerusalem, like the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the plain of Megiddo. 12 “The land will mourn, every family by itself.”
  26. Rom 11:26-27, “…and so all Israel will be saved; just as it is written,’THE DELIVERER WILL COME FROM ZION, HE WILL REMOVE UNGODLINESS FROM JACOB. 27 THIS IS MY COVENANT WITH THEM, WHEN I TAKE AWAY THEIR SINS.'”
